THE MAKKABEES: Heavy Metal Jews Release Debut CD

THE MAKKABEES, a brand-new group given to doing heavy metal versions of Jewish standards, have just issed their debut CD, "Vol. Aleph". According to SomethingJewish.co.uk, the group's "thrashy version of 'Hava Nagila' has to be heard to be believed — and they've given similar treatment to 'Oseh Shalom', 'Hinei Matov', 'Od Yeshoma' and a string of other tracks."
